The diploma

You've defended your thesis – congratulations! Don't forget to provide the thesis defense report to the Doctoral Information & Registration Office.

You may then obtain your diploma within two weeks. 

Any previous diplomas will be issued within a maximum of 6 months.

OBTAINING YOUR DIPLOMA FROM THE DOCTORAL INFORMATION & REGISTRATION OFFICE

You may obtain your diploma from the Doctoral Information & Registration Office

Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (closed Wednesdays)

Bring Identity papers

If you cannot come to the office, someone else can come in your place! They must provide a handwritten proxy, a copy of your identity papers and their own identity papers.

By mail

You may also have your diploma sent to you. If you wish to receive your diploma by mail, please send us:

For delivery in France:

  • €6.82 in postage stamps
  • a registered letter with return receipt mailing slip indicating the permanent address where you wish to receive your diploma in the "recipient" box and "UPMC - Bureau d'accueil des doctoral candidates - 15 rue de l'école de médecine - 75006 Paris" in the "sender" box.

 For international delivery:

  •  €12.10 in postage stamps or the equivalent in international reply coupons
  • an international registered letter mailing slip (CN07)
  • a receipt of delivery (517/517b) indicating the permanent address where you wish to receive your diploma in the "recipient" box and "UPMC - Bureau d'accueil des doctoral candidates - 15 rue de l'école de médecine - 75006 Paris" in the "sender" box.

You can prepay for postage at home in France or abroad on the postal service website.
