Special assistance for doctoral candidates receiving grants

Special assistance for doctoral candidates receiving French or foreign government grants was approved by UPMC's board of governors on 23 March 2015. The aim of the programme is to allow research units to offer doctoral candidates receiving grants the living conditions necessary to conduct their research. UPMC has fixed the minimum monthly amount at €1,422 net.

Three mandatory criteria for receiving assistance

  • Be a registered doctoral candidate at Sorbonne Université*
  • Receive a French or foreign government grant
  • Be a member of the research unit.

The funds will be paid once the candidate's doctorate registration is complete.

*First-year doctoral candidates are asked to submit their request for special assistance to the doctoral school along with their doctorate application.
